Virtual Sensei Poster for Eccomas 2011

The ECCOMAS Thematic Conference on Multibody Dynamics was held in Brussels, Belgium from July 4th to 7th 2011 and was organized by the Université catholique de Louvain. The Conference aims at providing a forum for discussion and technical exchanges between researchers from around the globe on the most recent advances in this rapidly growing field.

This was a great opportunity to illustrate the Virtual Sensei project and the preliminary results to this scientific community through a poster session.

In particular, the results (fully described in an article that will be available soon and summarized in the poster) are related to the motion capture sessions performed in Nettuno (Rome) with Viviana Bottaro, under the supervision of Prof. Pierluigi Aschieri (gallery). The object of this study was the biomechanical analysis of the karate reverse punch (gyaku tsuki) based on the evaluation of the kinetic energy released by the athlete while performing the technique in two different ways.

Sincere thanks to Prof. Ettore Pennestrì for this valuable opportunity to introduce Virtual Sensei, to Prof. Pier Paolo Valentini and Eng. Lorenzo Mariti for their support, to all the people who demonstrated interest in this work during the conference and to Brian Amberg for the excellent poster template.
